Administrative / biographical background
HMS SALSETTE (1805) was a Perseverance-class fifth-rate frigate of a nominal 36 guns. Built by the East India Company specifically for the Royal Navy at the Company's dockyards in Bombay; HMS SALSETTE was the Navy's first teak-built ship.
