The ship anchors in Turtle Bay, Ascension Island. Barlow describes how turtles are caught for food. Sea fowls and fish are also plentiful, but there is no fresh water on the island. Continuing their journey they meet ships which give them news from home, including the execution of the captain of the SEAFIRE for running away from an encounter with Turkish ships.
