The FLEET FRIGATE is steered by Barlow through uncharted shoals in the China Sea to Caberrero, where they anchor. In order to reach Canton the ship has to be towed up part of the river, and is not allowed to go further than Whampoa.
The FLEET FRIGATE journeys up the China Sea, past Pulo Candore where there is a settlement recently built by the New East India Company. Barlow steers the ship through uncharted shoals into the Bay of Macao, where they anchor at Caberrero. Barlow also pilots the HALIFAX to the same anchorage. The FLEET FRIGATE has to be towed up the river to Canton after a certain point, and is not allowed to go further than Whampoa.
