In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

We direct you to make allowance of Pay to Captain Pomeroy (who died of wounds received in the engagement with the French last Summer) as Captain of the RUPERT for the time he served in her, by virtue of an order of the Earl of Torrington, then Admiral of the Fleet, notwithstanding he did not have a Commission for the said employment.
