Log book of an Egyptian Corvette from the Battle of Navarino.
Log book of an Egyptian Corvette from Battle of Navarino, found in the captain's cabin by J.H. Boteler on 22 October 1827, two days after the action. An inscription inside back cover says this book was taken when Boteler boarded the wrecked corvette for the purpose of bringing the sails back to the ALBION to make cots for the wounded. It is written in Egyptian Arabic and contains an annotation by Boteler, of a translation of a date (13 October) by Mohammed Effendi at Portsmouth in 1830.
