Receipts for the NEPTUNE Nos.1 to 4.

Bundle of receipts for expenses of the East India Company ship NEPTUNE (1796), from 1794 to 1799.

Included are records of payments made by John Hallett, John & James Mangles, Robert Wigram, Fasham Nairn, William Paxton, Archibald Paxton and William & John Wells on account of their shares in the new ship being built as a replacement for the EARL OF MANSFIELD, dated 1794-1797. There is a receipt relating to entertainments at the launch of the NEPTUNE, settled with Farley, Terry & Peacock in 1796. Also a bill for painting of the round house cuddy and stern walk on the NEPTUNE, settled with Elizabeth Kitchin of 47 Paradise Street, Rotherhithe, in 1799.
