A series of Christmas Cards from the First World War including a Christmas card from The 7th Division in 1916 depicts a pensive soldier with a dream of homecoming, a scene of going into battle and a list of battle honours: Ypres, Neuve Chapelle, Festubert, Givency, Loos, The Somme; 1916 12th Division Christmas Card; RAF Christmas Card written after Word War One with 3 squadron fighter drawing; Gallipoli : General Sir Wm. R. Birdwood’s message to the “Anzacs”, Christmas, 1915, Inside were two pages of dispatches from Birdwood and General Sir Ian Hamilton, who acknowledged ‘how gloriously the Australian and New Zealand contingents have up held the fine traditions of our race' with an image of an Australian shouting Coo-ee to Australia from the shores of Gallipoli and a 1914 card titled Lord Kitchener's message to the troops.
