In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Copy of a proposal from Shipwright John Frame to build a Third rate at Hull. He had intended to build it in Harwich where there is a good supply of men and materials however Mr Barrett has decided to build there. He explains that there is plenty of seasoned timber in Yorkshire but it has to be moved down the river to Hull before the Summer as there are too many shallows at that time and so he needs an urgent decision. He explains at great length how many good places there are in Hull to build 3rd Rate Ships and a good supply of workmen.
