Seven commissions held in a red wallet including an appointment as Commander in Chief of all the ships in the East Indies 18 November 1788; Colonel of the Marine Forces 24 September 1787; a commission 12 April 1794 as Rear Admiral of the Red; appointment of Vice Admiral of the Blue 4 July 1794; appointed as Commander in Chief of all vessels employed and will be employed at Barbados of Leeward Island 1796; appointment as Admiral of the Blue 14 February 1799 and Commander in Chief 6 May 1803.
