Receipts for the PERSEVERANCE No.8.

Bundle of receipts for expenses of the East India Company ship PERSEVERANCE (1801), from January 1809 to December 1809.

Included are oaths made at the Mansion House and Justice Room at the Guildhall in London by seamen who were discharged from the PERSEVERANCE without receiving the wages due to them in January 1809. There is a receipt for patent illuminators on the ship supplied by Pellatt & Green, Glass Makers, 16 Saint Paul’s Church Yard, London. There is also a receipt issued by Welch, Stalker & Co. relating to clothing furnished for lascars.
