Menus and programmes from a dinner attended by Thursfield on the battleship HMS ROYAL SOVEREIGN (1891), flagship of the Channel Squadron, on 24 June 1895, soon after the opening of the Kiel Canal. Added to the cards are sketches of warships drawn by Fleet Paymaster Algernon Yockney, and signatures of British and German naval personnel on 19 June 1895.
