Printed material relating to the visit of the French Fleet to the Solent, between 7 and 14 August 1905, including invitation cards, programmes, arrangements for representatives of the press (in English and French), plans showing positions of the French and British fleets, and lists of officers. Also a printed general memorandum issued by Admiral Archibald L. Douglas, Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth, dated 3 August 1905, and a press pass for Thursfield representing ‘The Times’ during the events.
