Personal correspondence, mainly letters received by Thursfield from other officers, in the period from 1898 to 1919:
(1) Letter to Thursfield regarding his desire to be present at one of the sittings of the Parnell Commission, sent from the Royal Courts of Justice, dated 11 November 1889.
(2) Letter offering Thursfield an appointment as commander on the staff of Rear-Admiral Sir William C. Pakenham, commanding the Battle Cruiser Force, sent by his chief of staff, Edward Heaton-Ellis, dated 25 December 1916. Also a related letter from Commander Reginald A.R. Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax, dated 30 December 1916.
(3) Letter to Thursfield from Admiral Richard H. Peirse at 19 The Grove, Boltons, London, dated 11 April 1918. Peirse discusses his promotion to the rank of admiral, and his son Richard E.C. Peirse going back to France to serve with the newly created Royal Air Force.
(4) Letter to Thursfield from B.T. St John(?), with mention of the opinion of the editor of ‘The Morning Post’ regarding an armistice with Germany, sent from the House of Commons, dated 6 November 1918.
(5) Two letters from Hugh F.P. Sinclair, shortly after taking up the post of Director of Intelligence at the Admiralty, thanking Thursfield for his assistance during the time they worked together, dated 26 December 1918 and 7 January 1919.
