Personal correspondence, mainly letters received by Thursfield, in the period from 1923 to 1955:
(1) Two letters sent by Thursfield to the writer and journalist Thomas Humphry Ward at 2 Eccleston Square, London, dated 2 May 1923 and 11 November 1923. He thanks Ward for sending wedding gifts and discusses Winston Churchill. Also a letter from Dorothy M. Ward at 40 Pembroke Road, Kensington, London, dated 16 June 1955.
(2) Letter to Thursfield from Rear-Admiral John W.L. McClintock, sent from HMS CARDIFF (1917), flagship of the Third Light Cruiser Squadron, at Malta and dated 12 January 1925.
(3) Letter inviting Thursfield to serve as a member of the Navy Records Society, sent by William G. Perrin, dated 28 May 1929. With a copy of Thursfield’s reply accepting the invitation, dated 29 May 1929.
(4) Letter to Thursfield from Sir Thomas W.H. Inskip, Minister for Coordination of Defence, apologising for his forgetfulness and discussing lunch at the Athenaeum Club tomorrow, sent from 10 Eaton Square, London, dated 24 October 1937.
