In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
It appears to us by a letter from Sir Edward Gregory, a Commissioner at Chatham, enclosed in yours of the 14th inst; to our Secretary, that Valentine Cocklyn, Boatswain of that Yard, did several years since, when Boatswain of the ROTTERDAM Hulk, embezzle one of their Majesties' Warpes and sell the same to John Hoystead, Master of the KENT Hoy, for which you have suspended him from his employment. We direct you to continue his suspension till further Order from this Board, and to appoint a fitting Person to be employed in his place during his suspension.
