In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Charles Jepson, Commander of the OXFORD, just before he sailed for New England put her Surgeon, Mr James Cockburn, ashore and has taken another in his stead, and having received a very good character of Mr Cockburn I send this to desire you will recommend him to the Surgeons' Hall for another Ship as soon as may be.
I desire you will also give me an account whether any of the 5th Rate Ships can be cleaned at Harwich if there shall be an occasion for it.
