Documents relating to Penney's volunteer work during the General Strike of 1926. There are two handwritten letters, dated 6 May and 14 May 1926, of which the author is not clear, but the letters are thanking their recipients for helping to maintain public services during the General Strike of 1926. The letter dated 14 May indicates that Penney had volunteered to help control traffic in London. There is also a typed letter dated 7 June 1926 from the Ministry of Transport, thanking its recipients for helping to maintain London's electrical services 'during times of Emergency'.
