In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

I have written several letters about the unreasonable expense of maintaining a ship so remote from the French that they do not think it worthwhile to come to her. I have 2 months provisions and 4 months in stores for supply and the cost of the ship will increase every spring. It amounts to £72,511.10 in this currency and in sterling £580.9.5 which I have drawn in three bills of exchange on the Commissioners of the Navy. Signed by Captain Evans, Commander of the RICHMOND at New York.
