In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of today informs us that the Master Shipwright is of the opinion that the damages to the CHARLES galley and the CRESCENT fireship by going on shore with the hulk at Sheerness, may be made good in the graving dock and the hulk in the mud dock. We signify our approval of this. We have given orders for the sheathing and fitting of the LINCOLN at Plymouth, the TRIDENT at Portsmouth, the DOLPHIN at Sheerness and the SCARBOROUGH in the Thames. Sir Cloudesley Shovell advises us that he cannot procure any bread or beer for his squadron at Spithead. You are directed to quicken the Commissioners of the Victualling in performing their services.
