In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The RUBY, DOLPHIN, BIDDEFORD, LINCOLN, TRIDENT and SCARBOROUGH are to go to the West Indies, and you are to have the ships victualled for 8 months and to their middle complement of men. They are to depart from the Downes with the trade bound for Jamaica, Barbados and the Leeward Islands by the last of December. Also the EXPERIMENT is to go with them and you are directed, upon her arrival at Spithead to have refitted and victualled there in the same manner and her number of men reduced to her middle complement.
