Journal kept by Richard Cotten on HMS BACCHANTE (1876), flagship of Rear-Admiral Sir Frederick W. Richards in the East Indies, between 25 April 1885 and 3 April 1886; then on HMS SPHINX (1882), between 4 April 1886 and 3 July 1886.
