Composite volume of two parts: 'Abstract of Naval Stores' and 'Arithmetic & Geometry'.

First half of the volume: An abstract of the serviceable Naval stores taken at the last General Survey of His Majesty's several Dockyards and remaining in the custody of the storekeeper of each yard (Portsmouth on 7 March 1673, Deptford on 13 May 1674, Woolwich on 19 May 1674, Sheerness 21 July 1674 and Chatham on 15 July 1674). The list, with the dockyards as column headings, begins with anchors, going from the heaviest to the lightest, and then continues in roughly alphabetical order by item until sails, where the format changes so that each dockyard has a separate list, starting with Deptford. After each ship's sails are listed precisely, the list then continues alphabetically by item until 'Working Benches'. Then there is a section devoted to rope, beginning on page 134, which is the last section of this abstract.
Second half of the volume: After a few blank pages, a different document begins, titled 'Proposition in Geometry', with explanations and exercises in geometry, an explanation of plain sailing and example calculations and exercises, then moving on to traverse sailing. Mercator, oblique sailing, spherical trigonometry and astronomy. The final section of the volume, after a few more blank pages, is dedicated to mathematics and their application to sailing. There is no indication of date or author.
