Naval documents relating to the Martin family, including commission for Henry Martin as 5th Lieutenant on the ROYAL GEORGE, signed by Anson (1756) and captain of the PHOENIX signed by Edward Hawke (1770). Others letters by Admiral Sir Henry Byam Martin (1836- 45) and Sir William Fanshawe Martin (1847-49) and an account of the naval career of Rear Admiral Sir Thomas Byam Martin, by his brother, Sir Henry Martin.
