Hardbound wireless signal log book containing the journal of Sick Berth Steward 2nd Class Lewis Henry Gerbert, between August and October 1914. It records his duties during the setting up of a temporary hospital at Chatham Barracks, then on the seaplane carrier HMS ENGADINE (1911) in the North Sea. Included are naval signals, cuttings from magazines and a photograph of the ENGADINE as a cross-Channel passenger ferry owned by the South Eastern and Chatham Railway Co.
