First volume of a journal kept by Parr during the Arctic Expedition, covering the period from the departure of HMS ALERT from Portsmouth on 29 May 1875 to 15 October 1875. A hand drawn and coloured map on tracing paper shows the sledging journeys to Cape Joseph Henry and back, between 25 September and 15 October 1875.
