He wonders if he and Lady Hamilton can afford to buy some adjoining land; suggests that they will employ local tradespeople; that it would be good to christen their daughter at a church in Merton; regrets that his father is visiting Somerset Street, which is where Lady Nelson was living at the time; that Dr Baird has deemed Captain Parker to be close to death, and that a notice of his death will be sent to the Admiralty.
