Nelson to Lady Hamilton, 26 Sept 1803, (Harrison I, 152, extract in Nicolas, V, 213), one page torn, remainder missing, on supplies, Malta and Bronte.

Nelson’s ships have endured gales and heavy sea over the last fourteen days, but not suffered any damage. He hopes they will stay at sea all winter and not be dependent on supplies from Malta. He has managed to get supplies from Spain and France, but from the newspapers he is occasionally able to read, it appears that the Spanish are now being uncivil to English ships. He discusses his efforts in settling the debt relating to the estate of Bronte and hopes that Gibbs will be able to do something for him if Acton cannot.
