Rear-Admiral John Pasco (1774-1853). Holograph letter to Robert Cole Esq
Pasco describes an icident with Lord Nelson, before the Battle of Trafalgar, when the Admiral ordered the hoops of the ships recently arrived from England to be painted yellow instead of black to avoid confusion with the enemy ships.
