Journal kept by Edward William Hereford as mate of the brig HMS ACORN (1838) in the Canton River, between January 1857 and May 1858; then as a lieutenant on the frigate HMS Nankin (1850), during a voyage from Hong Kong to England, between August 1858 and January 1859. Pen and ink frontispiece.
