Collection of papers including letters written by Collingwood, Dommett, Howe, Hotham, Mulgrave, Melville, Nepean, Nelson, St Vincent and Lady Hamilton, 1775-1838, see full list in printed catalogue for further details. Also present in the second volume are letters to his wife Margaret, covering the period 1805-1815, including one written from Gibraltar a week after the battle of Trafalgar, describing the battle and the wound he received (foliated 197 d(i)).
