Administrative / biographical background
Commander Charles Herbert Lightoller (1874-1952) was the second officer on board the TITANIC, and the most senior oficer to survive the disaster. Leslie Harrison, an author, fought to clear the name of Captain Lord. "The Ship that Stood Still" was written by Leslie Reade and edited by Dutch marine journalist Edward de Groot.
