Includes a section of the North Altantic Ocean between Bermuda, Azores and Madeira, showing soundings and isothermal lines, obtained in HMS CHALLENGER, Captain G.S. Nares, 1873; and contains extracts from the reports of Captain Nares, HMS CHALLENGER, to Rear Admiral Richards, Hydrographer of the Admiralty, written 15 September 1873.
