In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Petition of William Beckford supplier of Slops to the Navy in which he alludes to sums of money owing to him and the likely inability of his continuing to supply slops unless some payment is forthcoming. In the left hand margin is a note stating that the petition has been referred to the Commissioners of the Navy. In the right hand margin is a note signed by Henry Guy, Secretary to the Treasury forwarding the petition to the Navy Board for their opinion.
