Having ordered the DUNKIRK to Chatham to be repaired, you are directed that upon her arrival her commissioned officers and men be turned over into the MARY and that she be supplied with a proportion of stores and provisions you think proper for service in the West Indies.
The HAMPSHIRE and CADIZ MERCHANT have been ordered to Sheerness and you are directed to have them cleaned and refitted and supplied with stores and provisions for service in the Channel.
The PLYMOUTH, WARSPITE, OXFORD and ST DAVID, now at Spithead have been ordered to Portsmouth and you are directed to have them cleaned refitted and supplied with provisions for service in the Channel.
The HALF MOON fireship has been ordered to Sheerness and you are directed to survey her and report whether she should continue as a fireship or convert her to a frigate and employ her as a cruiser.
You are directed that when the HAPPY RETURN arrives at Woolwich and the DEFIANCE at Chatham you are to have them cleaned and refitted and supplied for Channel service.
