Document signed by William Jephson, Secretary to the Treasury, 1647-1691.

The Lords of the Treasury have commanded me to advise you that £6,000 a week from this time will be paid to the Treasurer of the Navy for this year for the current service of the Navy. This is to be paid out of monies lent on credit by Act of Parliament for the granting to their Majesties of the revenue of customs. In case there is any deficiency of loans to make good the weekly payments, the Treasurer of the Navy may make loans in his own name.
