Correspondence from John Jervis, Admiral of the Fleet, Ist Earl St Vincent to George Parker and Mrs Parker (Admiral Sir William Parker's parents), and others, mostly re William's early progress on HMS ORION and St Vincent's efforts re William's career. Includes Jervis' letter of 2 August 1794 describing William Parker's experience of the Battle of the Glorious First of June as a twelve year old midshipman: 'Your Young Tar has had a bellyful of fighting under Lord Howe. That battle was the best fought on our side of any since the Dutch Wars'. Signed by Jervis.
