Memoranda, reports and signals relating to the bombardment of Gallipoli, Yeni Keui and Examile by the battleship HMS VENERABLE (1899) and the cruiser HMS CHATHAM (1911) in the Gulf of Xeros on 2 July 1915. The spotting was carried out by 3 Kite Balloon Section, Royal Naval Air Service, operating from the requisitioned auxiliary HMS HECTOR (1895). Included are a fall of shot chart for the town of Gallipoli, some pages from a sketchpad and an ink drawing of Suvla Bay.
