In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

By an Order in Council the Queen has directed that all ordinary seamen who are not intended to be turned over into other ships are be paid and discharged. Under-Officers are to be retained and paid in next January as from April of last year, together with the remainder of their pay before the Fleet goes to sea next Spring. Commissioned and Warrant Officers are to be kept on full pay as previously established. All of the Foremast men in ships at Chatham named in the margin or expected to arrive at Chatham are to be paid off. The names of eight ships appear in the margin.
