In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Asking for a progress report concerning previously issued Orders for paying the ships going to the West Indies and other foreign convoys and requesting that those going to Jamaica be paid first. The rest of the letter deals with the recommendation of the Navy Board that a Clerk of the Survey should accompany the other Officers being sent to the Straits and that he should be paid the same as his counterpart at Portsmouth; and that the Clerks Mr Wilshaw is taking with him should receive fifty pounds per annum.
