Sub-folder: 'Miscelleanous Shanties and Other Items' includes a copy of an article 'Songs of a Shantyman, Captain John Robinson' by Roy Palmer in ENGLISH DANCE AND SONG, 42: 2 (1980); newspaper cuttings in 2007; 'Bring 'em down!' music and lyrics; correspondence in the 1980s and an illustration from PUNCH c.1925.

Sub-folder: 'Grainger' includes 'The Perring Chanties- The Grainger English Folk Song Collection Numbers 400-407' by Jane O'Brien in STUDIES IN MUSIC, 14 (1980); music and lyrics for 'Storm Along' from JFS (1908) and 'Sailors' Chanties: Collected by Harry E. Piggott' from JFS, no.20 (1916).

Sub-folder: 'Hugill' includes 'The Old Man of the Sea Shanty' from THE GUARDIAN, 11 September 1992, an obituary of Stan Hugill. Hugill was considered the last of the Shantymen; an obituary of Stan Hugill, from THE INDEPENDENT, 15 May 1992 and an extract copy from 'The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians' (1980), volume 17, giving a definition of 'Shanty' with origins, earliest references and categories.

Sub-folder: 'George Edward Marston (1882-1940)' includes hand written music scores; and 'Chapter XIV Chanties' from 'Memories of Antarctic Days' (1913) by G. E. Marston.

Sub-folder: 'Terry' includes copies from the OXFORD DICTIONARY OF NATIONAL BIOGRAPHY on Richard Runciman Terry (1864-1938), a choirmaster and music scholar; and extracts from 'Music and Letters' vol.1, No.1 ( January 1920) pp.35-44 on 'Sailor Shanties.'
