This handbook contains comprehensive information for passengers of the Deutsche Ost-Afrika Linie Hamburg company's ships including: fleet list; terms and conditions of passage; fares; landing regulations; routes from London and shipment of animals belonging to passengers. There are black and white photographs of the ships and their interiors and some of the ports at which passengers may disembark. There is a fleet list. Sample menus for first- and second-class passengers are given. A fold-out chart shows passenger fares for the main lines and deck passenger fares for Africans only (with and without food). A railway map shows routes from London through Europe to Rome. A fold-out map shows the shipping routes from London round Africa to Madagascar and India; through the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal; and from London to Hamburg. On the reverse of the map are tables showing distances between the various ports of the Eastern and Western routes. Further foldouts show detailed ship plans for the following Imperial Mail Steamers: Tabora; General; Prinzessin; Admiral; Prinzregent; Feldmarschall; Burgermeister; Kronprinz; Gertrud Woermann; Adolph Woermann; Windhuk and Rhenania.
