Crescent shipping / K.S. Garrett.

Chronicles the story of Crescent Shipping, which began as a coastal transport company in 1849. By 1900 a large number of sailing barges were operated by the company. In the years leading to the Second World War many sailing craft were fitted with motors and some seagoing cargo ships were added to the fleet. Post-1945, larger seagoing ships were acquired and the company engaged in cable-laying, bulk powders and the dumping of nuclear waste. The book charts the evolution of the company up until 2008, by which time Crescent had been subsumed into a large international group. Contains numerous photographs, and fleet lists for motor ships, motor barges, tugs, Bowker and King, Offshore Marine, Crescent Ship Management and others.
