Verona (1879)
A whole plate negative. A fair quality slightly distant port broadside view of the passenger/cargo liner Verona (1879) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast, is flying the blue peter and an awning is rigged over the deck forward of the mizzen mast. A small steam launch is alongside. The afterpart of a twin funnelled Ring company paddle tug is in the left foreground. Tilbury is in the background. The original negative has been discarded and a sheet film copy negative has been made from a 12x10 photographic print produced from the original negative in the 1950s.
