Study of the stern of a Dutch bezan yacht
A free drawing showing the stern and the port side of a Dutch bezan yacht from the waist aft. On the tafferel is a lion rampant guardant with one paw resting on a shield bearing crossed anchors. There are two shields on either side. On the back is a sketch of the tafferel, a rudder-head in detail and the stern from withinboard (van binne).
This is an unsigned pencil drawing by the Younger. According to Robinson it is a note of decoration in rapid pencil, which is less surely handled than the Younger’s later work. It has been approximately dated by the subject.
