Portrait of the 'Portsmouth' (yacht)
The ‘Portsmouth’ viewed from the port quarter.
The disposition of the ports is similar to PAH3913, but there are guns in the second, third and fourth ports from the bow. The stern is left almost blank.
This is a faint unsigned offset by the Younger, with a little pencil. The original of this drawing was used probably for the very detailed painting at Greenwich by the Elder (signed and dated ‘1675 W.V.Velde’), showing the ‘Portsmouth’ yacht from abaft the starboard beam.
