Badge and starboard quarter of a yacht belonging to the 2nd Duke of Albemarle

The badge has a single window with four panes surrounded by decoration. There are cherubs on either side, spreadeagle below, and above, the arms of Albemarle, and a chevron between three lions’ heads. The bulwark is painted blue (blau) with the Garter star forward of the badge and a sun abaft it.

Inscribed ‘duck of albermer’.

This is an unsigned pen and brown ink drawing by the Younger. It has been approximately dated by the subject and style.

There is a drawing of the head of the yacht in the collection of D.G. van Beuningen at Vierhouten.
