A 12x10 negative. A port side view, taken from well ahead of the beam, of the United States Navy protected cruiser Chicago (1885) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She is barque rigged. Her steam launch is at the boat boom and men are disembarking into rowing boats at the accommodation ladder. Tilbury is in the background.
