Launch of HMS Royal Albert screw steamer, 131 guns, at Woolwich, May 13, 1854. Bow view
The 'Royal Albert' was one of the last major warships to be built at Woolwich Dockyard and the last of all Royal Naval three-deckers originally laid down as a sailing vessel, though auxiliary steam power was added during construction. It was launched on 13 May 1854 by Queen Victoria with Prince Albert in attendance.
