Attaque d' Alger par mer (3 Juillet 1830)

The view was taken from Danes Island, looking towards Canton and its surrounding picturesque scenery, including Whampoa pagoda and those near Canton. Huggins had sailed to China in 1812 and 1824, in the employ of the East India Company, before establishing himself as a professional painter of marine subjects.
