This is a reasonably accurate depiction of the 1st class protected cruiser St George completed 25 Oct. 1894. Her hull was sheathed and coppered for overseas service and she is depicted in the Solent returning from four years' service as flagship of the Cape and West Coast of Africa Station in 1898.
